On Wednesday, April 1st, 100.7 The Island (Manitoulins Country, CFRM) received approval from CRTC for a new license to broadcast on 103.1 FM (CHAW). With this approval things will be changing here on Manitoulin Island. The current 100.7 FM (The Island) will go through a format change from the country genre to a top 40 format. Glow 100, will be broadcasting on the fm dial at 100.7! 100.7 The Island (Manitoulins Country) will then switch over to the 103.1 FM frequency with a name change to COUNTRY 103. In the next few months Manitoulin Island will have a new Country station, (CHAW) Country 103, Great Lakes Country! This is an exciting time for CFRM and CHAW! Owners Craig and KT Timmermans have been working on this change for over 7 years and its going to be a busy time.
